Course Schedule
11-Week Course: Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9pm, one Saturday class from 8am-12pm.
70 hours in class. 120 hours clinical externship.
Curriculum Included:
– History of Dentistry and dental terminology
– Dental equipment and instruments– Dental procedures: both general and specialty and how and why the procedures are done. Also
to include the materials used in each procedure and proper handling of those materials
– Importance of sterilization and the different techniques
– Chairside Assisting: anticipating your doctor’s needs, how to properly pass instruments, ensuring
patient’s comfort before, during, and after procedures
– Lab work: impression taking, model pouring, temporary teeth fabrication
– Digital Dentistry: intraoral scanners, CBCT units, 3D printers
– X-ray: placement of x-ray taking devices, understanding what is shown in an x-ray and how to
explain without diagnosing
– Dental front office responsibilities and customer service: answering phone calls in a professional
manner, scheduling or canceling appointments.
– Resume building and job search and interview preparation
– Externship in a local dental office
What You’ll Receive Upon Completion:- Certifcate of Completion given to all graduates.
- CPR and X-ray Certification through State of VA included
